NEW Food Scrap Collection in Trumansburg

Beginning Saturday, January 7th, residents can drop off their food scraps at the Trumansburg Village Department of Public Works Site (on Corey Street behind the Farmer’s Market) from 9-12 . The drop spot will be open every Saturday 9-12. A free food scraps recycling toolkit, including a kitchen caddy, compostable liners, and a transport container can be picked up at any drop spot or the Solid Waste Division office in Ithaca. The program accepts food scraps, including meat, bones, and dairy products, as well as paper towels and napkins, and offers residents a convenient way to reduce their trash disposal costs.
