Assistance with buying your first home or repairing your current home.

BETTER HOUSING FOR TOMPKINS COUNTY
The current grant, starting this summer, covers 100%, unlike the normal 60/40 ratio grant. The grant is for both low income and elderly homeonwners. Christine Carreiro is the construction grant manager. Her email is constructc@betterhousingtc.org, phone 607-273-2187, ext. 210.

BISHOP SHEEN ECUMENICAL HOUSING FOUNDATION
Home repair grant money is available to single family homeowners in Tompkins County.
Repairs covered include
  • furnaces
  • roofs
  • electrical work
  • hot water heaters
  • bathroom and kitchen repairs

ULYSSES CHRISTMAS BUREAU:

The Ulysses Christmas Bureau helps provide new clothes and toys to needy children at Christmas. It is an all-volunteer, tax-exempt, charitable organization that is affiliated with the Ulysses Community Council and the United Way. They receive no outside funding- they are simply neighbors helping neighbors.
